Heres a little about Grapevine, TX.

Grapevine, Texas is a city with a rich history that dates back to the mid-1800s. The area was opened up to settlement in 1843 when General Sam Houston and representatives of 10 Indian nations signed a treaty. The first settler to arrive in the area was Dr. Barnard E. Bee, Sr. in 1844, and he named the area Grapevine due to the abundance of wild mustang grapes growing in the region.

Grapevine became a stop on the Chisholm Trail in the 1850s, which was a cattle trail that ran from Texas to Kansas. The town became a popular location for cowboys to rest and replenish their supplies. In 1888, the St. Louis Southwestern Railway (also known as the Cotton Belt) built a line through Grapevine, which brought more settlers and businesses to the area.

Grapevine’s grape-growing heritage was celebrated in 1907 with the first Grapefest, which is still held annually and draws thousands of visitors each year. In the 1930s, Grapevine became a center for the viticulture industry in Texas and was home to several wineries. The town’s unique architecture and historic landmarks were preserved in the 1960s when its downtown area was designated a National Register Historic District.

In the 1990s, Grapevine became a major tourist destination with the opening of Grapevine Mills, a large outlet shopping center, and the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center. Today, Grapevine is a thriving city with a population of over 50,000 people. It is known for its historic downtown area, wineries, and tourism industry.
