Rowlett, Texas is a city in Dallas County that is in the eastern region of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Rowlett is well known for its diverse population and vibrant history, which dates to its founding in 1873.

In its early days, Rowlett was a small farming community with a population of just 250 people. After World War II, however, the city began to grow rapidly as its population increased. By 1960, the population had grown to 4,415, and by 1970 it had risen to 10,667. 

In the 1980s, the city experienced a major economic boom when two major companies, Sabre Corporation, and its subsidiary, SabreTech, chose to locate their headquarters in Rowlett. This prompted more people to move to the city in search of employment opportunities and helped to further stimulate the economy.

In addition to its economic success, Rowlett also boasts a rich cultural heritage. It is home to an abundance of cultural attractions, including the Rowlett Community Theatre, the Rowlett Historical Museum, and the Rowlett Public Library. The city is also home to multiple parks and recreational activities, such as Lake Ray Hubbard and the Bob Woodruff Park.

Today, Rowlett is a vibrant community that is home to over 57,000 people.
